The Rumschlags
Steve Rumschlag is the Senior Pastor of Turning Point Community Church. Steve and his wife Kristi were married in 1999 in her hometown of Ashland, OH. They have four kids.
Steve grew up in the church. His dad, a pastor of a non-denominational church in Toledo, introduced him at a very young age to the truth of Jesus Christ. Steve graduated from Toledo Christian School in 1994, and Kristi graduated from Ashland High School the same year.
Both Steve and Kristi then pursued education at The Ohio State University in Columbus, where they met and fell in love. Both were involved in campus ministry (then called Campus Crusade) and the Columbus Vineyard. Steve graduated in 1998 with a B.A. in Political Science. Kristi the same year with a degree in French, and one year later she received her Masters in Education.
Moving to Mansfield, OH, Steve took on a job as a youth pastor while going through seminary at Ashland Theological Seminary. Kristi took a job teaching high school French. Steve graduated with his Masters of Divinity in 2003, at which point he started taking on more of a leadership role at Grace Fellowship Church.
He also worked part-time with Youth for Christ at a local school. However, through God’s leading and the encouragement of others, Steve and Kristi decided to leave Mansfield in pursuit of building something new in Findlay. Trusting in God’s leading, they bought a house and moved to Findlay in 2004, though Steve did not yet have a job. They, along with three other couples, started Turning Point one year later.
Steve is bi-vocational. He works a full-time job as the President of a mid-size company in the telecommunication industry. Kristi is a homemaker, busy homeschooling their four children. The Rumschlag family would say that all you need to know about them is that they love Jesus and want to do anything they can to serve Him, worship Him, honor Him, and introduce others to Him.
